- Ranking the TOP 10 players of my era came about after I read THE SLAM 500 GREATEST PLAYERS OF ALL TIME issue. I'm not even going to go into the fact that they listed Shaq over Kareem and Kobe that is buffoonery at its highest apex, but they really got me thinking about how players should be judged and ranked by categories. I devised a formula in which I ranked these 10 players based on a variety of skills on a scale of 1-10 with the best player receiving the highest ranking. For example 1 means your the best and 10 means your the worst in each category. It is still a work in progress but I wanted to present my findings to you all and one last thing if you didn't win a championship you didn't get any consideration.
- Here is the list of criteria that I used to determine the rankings for each player: LEADERSHIP,TEAM PERFORMANCE IN THE PLAYOFFS,INDIVIDUAL PLAYOFF PERFORMANCE,CRUNCH TIME,SKILL LEVEL,INDIVIDUAL ACCOLADES,TRUE SHOOTING PERFORMANCE,DEFENSIVE PRESENCE,PLAYGROUND ATTRACTION, and STAR POWER
- 10TH. THE ADMIRAL DAVID ROBINSON WITH A SCORE OF 77. A gentleman on and off the court The Admiral was a combination of size ,strength ,and quickness that the NBA had never seen before.
- 9TH. ZEEK ISIAH THOMAS WITH A SCORE OF 69. I have always said that if Isiah was 5 inches taller he would have been top 5 all time with the things he could do with the basketball. Think Allen Iverson with more intelligence, leadership, and respect for the game. You want to know how good ZEEK was check out game 6 of the 89 finals against the Lakers.
- 8TH. THE DADDY SHAQUILLE THE REAL DEAL O'NEAL WITH A SCORE OF 67.One of the greatest players ever Shaq could have been the best if ego and off season workout neglect had been handled better. Shaq and Kobe are the best duo in the history of the game. There I said it. If you want to argue about don't sing it bring it.
- 7TH. THE BIG FUNDAMENTALS TIM DUNCAN WITH A SCORE OF 63. Outside of Hakeem Tim is the only man that I have ever seen dominate Shaq in his prime.
- 5TH. HAKEEM THE DREAM OLAJUWON WITH A SCORE OF 60. Dream dominated every center he faced with his patented DREAM SHAKE and his now you see it now you don't move. Shaq and The Admiral are still having nightmares about guarding The Dream.
- 5TH. LARRY BIRD WITH A SCORE OF 60. Bird had it all inside and outside and I can honestly say that their will never ever be another LARRY LEGEND.
- 4TH KAREEM ABDUL JABARR WITH A SCORE OF 49. Possibly the greatest player to ever play the game. The dunk was banned because of him. Enough said.
- 3rd BLACK MAMBA KOBE BRYANT WITH A SCORE OF 33. With his career still going he could possibly become #1. Just think of how you would view this man if their was no Michael. Who is the next Kobe Bryant? Kevin Durant just perhaps.
- 2nd EARVIN MAGIC JOHNSON WITH A SCORE OF 30. 8 Finals appearances in 10 years. The ultimate teammate, leader and the orchestrater of SHOWTIME. Once played all 5 positions in his rookie year in the finals. Tell LeBron to try that shit..
- 1st MICHAEL AIR JORDAN WITH A SCORE OF 21. If you look up a picture in the dictionary of what the perfect basketball player would like there would probably be a picture of bald headed man with his tongue out dunking on Patrick Ewing. Michael Jordan is what every player who came after him aspires to be like. You can't be Magic, because you can't teach 6 foot 9 with perfect court vision. From his game winning shots to his gravity defying dunks MJ turned what was always viewed as a team game into his own personal playground. What if he didn't retire the first time we are talking about possibly 8 in a row? Try as they may Kobe and Lebron have a tough road ahead of them in trying to catch the goat. Don't even get me started on his shoes.........,.................

Ranking The Top 10 Players In The NBA Of My Era

THE NFL LOWDOWN WEEK#13
Why is it that the more things change the more things stay the same in the city of Baltimore when it comes to the football team? I was told that the defense was aging and that it could no longer be counted on to dominate like it has in years past. They might not be the 2000 version but this defense is certainly capable of winning a SUPER BOWL. I was also told that with the additions of Bouldin, Stallworth, and Houshmandzadeh to go along with Rice, Mason, Heap, and Flacco this offense was supposed to be top 5 and average 30 points a game. Wrong! Wrong! The Ravens produce only 21.7 pts ago good for 16th in the league. The high powered Chiefs, Titans,Jets,Lions, and Raiders are averaging more points than the Ravens and I have not seen the offensive consistency that you would expect from the players they have. Is it Flacco's youth and inconsistent play on the road that is holding them back? Is it Cameron and his fucked up play calling to go along with his pee wee league game plans that should be blamed or is it Harbaugh and the fact that he was a former specials team's coach with limited knowledge of the offensive side of the ball that should receive the criticism. I don't have the answer, but I do know this I have seen this shit before. I can't put my finger on it, but I think several other guys tried their hands at elevating the play of the Ravens offense and each of them failed. Do the names Billick ,Cavanaugh, Fossel and Neuheisel ring a bell? Check their track records: BILLICK HAD ONE OF THE TOP OFFENSES IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME WHEN HE WAS COACHING THE VIKINGS. ANY MAN THAT COULD TURN KERRY COLLINS INTO A 4000 YARD PASSER LIKE FOSSEL DID DESERVES CREDIT. NEUHEISEL HAD PROLIFIC OFFENSES AT COLORADO AND WASHINGTON AND CAVANAUGH HAS COACHED AT TWO PLACES SINCE HE LEFT THE RAVENS AND HE DOESN'T AT ALL RESEMBLE THE BUFFOON THAT WE HAD LABELED HIM HERE IN BALTIMORE. Now don't call me a detective, but if all of this is true than through process of elimination you must have reached the same conclusion that I have come to. The Ravens organizational hierarchy is to blame for this anemic ass string of offensive disappointments year end and year out. Think about it no matter who they draft or sign or who coaches the team the results are the same. I think that THE RAVENS WAY WAS DISCOVERED BACK IN THE YEAR 2000 AND THE ORGANIZATION DECIDED THAT IS HOW WE WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL AND NO ONE IS GOING TO CHANGE THAT. THE ORGANIZATION LOVES THAT BLUE COLLAR APPROACH AND I THINK THE COACHES CONFORM THEIR PHILOSOPHIES AND SCHEMES TO FIT IN. I could draw the same conclusion about the D, but that would take up to much time. The next time you watch and analyze a Ravens game just remember Cameron coached a prolific offense in San Diego that features Rivers, Gates and Tomlinson and I don't think he has all of a sudden forgot how to coach football. He sees the same shit that we do only he has an organization to answer to if he fails to do what he is told. Now on to the LOWDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Don't call it a controversy, but is Kitna not the leader that the Cowboys have been looking for. Several times he expressed his displeasure with plays on the field ranging from Buehler missing a filed goal, to holding calls to Austin misjudging a deep ball that would have resulted in a touchdown. One time Dez Bryant came over to complain about not getting the ball and Kitna blew him off. Could you imagine that shit happening with Romo at QB? With his leadership skills and command of the offense I would not be opposed to seeing more of Kitna. This doesn't mean that I don't like Romo. It just means that I for now I have love for Kitna.
- No matter what they do, the Deadskins are an organization that can't seem to get out of it's own way. You bring in Shannahan and trade for McNabb and all seems right in the world. Then you start the season off on top of the NFC EAST at 3-2 , possibly looking at a playoff birth when Shannahan starts fucking with McNabb. Keep in mind he was already fucking with Haynesworth from the jump. Reports have recently surfaced that Shanahan had an argument years ago with his wife over the fact that due to the birth of their newborn baby son she would not be able to do participate in mandatory threesomes during two a days or perform his version of the wishbone offense in the bedroom the way he had prepped her for . Looks like another year of missing the playoffs and organizational turmoil are in store for the Dead skins and I truly believe that it could not happen to a better team.
- When an organization decides to change its offensive or defensive philosophy for one player when they were successful doing things a certain way ,only bad things can happen. It is easier to make one player conform to a team than it is for a team to conform to one player. Minnesota changed who they were when they got Brett Favre and the Bengals changed who they were upon signing Terrell Owens. Both teams relied on dominant running games to go along with top ranked defenses and they were both successful. Even though Brett took the Vikings to the championship game he did so at expense of Adrian Peterson and the Vikings running game has not been the same since. The Bengals had Superbowl asperations after signing T.O. and now they look like the biggest bunch of underachievers this side of Texas. Instead of relying on their strengths and leveraging their new acquisitions both franchises did a 180 and guess what neither is going to make the playoffs. That's what your dumbasses get.
- THE HIGH FIVE:
- 1) PATRIOTS 10-2 SUPERBOWL BOUND?
- 2) STEELERS 9-3 BIG WIN OVER THE RAVENS
- 3) SAINTS 9-3 THAT'S RIGHT I PUT THEM OVER THE FALCONS
- 4) FALCONS 10-2 I AM NOT CONVINCED
- 5) RAVENS 8-4 ONE LOSS TO THE STEELERS DOESN'T CHANGE MY OPINION OF THEM
- MVP WATCH:
- 1)MIKE VICK - LOOKS LIKE A CHARACTER OFF OF TECMO BOWL
- 2)TOM BRADY- THIS MAN DOES MORE WITH LESS BETTER THAN ANYONE
- 3)DREW BREES- QUIETLY HAS HIS TEAM AT 9-3
- 4)TROY POLAMALU- HIS IMPACT IS RIDICULOUS.
- 5)AARON RODGERS- BRETT WHO?
- BUFFOON OF THE WEEK:
- For all of you with children would you give your child access to your bank account and tell them to take out money whenever they felt the need to. Would you ask that same child to make sure you wake up on time for work every morning and blame them when they happen to over sleep? The reason why I ask you this is because the buffoon of the week did things similar to these and acted in amazement when things didn't go according to plan. How do you hire a 33 year old who had never been a head coach before at any level let alone the NFL and expect him to succeed. Combined Brad Piff, S.,Greg, Josh McDaniels and myself all have had the same amount of high school and college head coaching experience. Zero, so the buffoon of the week could have hired anyone of us and guess what we would have not only come cheaper, but Marshall, Cutler, and Peyton Hillis would still be Broncos. Oh and I forgot we would have never given up draft picks to draft a QB who we could have gotten in the 3rd or 4th round because not only do we have common sense but Cutler would have still been on the roster and we would have addressed that wack ass defensive instead. The guy that I am calling the buffoon of the week fired a head coach who had guided his team to 2 super bowls for a guy who had watched two Superbowl's live. The guy I am talking about is Pat Bowen. You watched this man fuck your franchise up and now you call him out. Where the fuck were you out of town when all of this shit happened? You went to the Jerry Jones school of ownership where you believe you are to cool for school. You did things your way then acted shock when the results were fucked up. You let a dude who had as much business running a team as Carl Lewis does of singing the National Anthem be the face of your franchise and for that Pat Bowen you are the Buffoon of The Week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I'M OUT LIKE THE CAVS MANHOOD AFTER JAMES EMBARRASSED THEM.

AMERICA YOU ARE TO BLAME FOR THE ONE THEY CALL JAMES
- I tried to tell you all that James was a fraud, but you refused to listen to the one they call THE FRANCHISE ROMEO IGROMO. Columnist, fans and dickriders alike believed James was a god send and that he was the embodiment of what a leader and an icon should be. You worshipped him, brought products that he endorsed and gave him a sense of entitlement before he ever did anything to deserve it.
- And how did he pay you back by turning his back on a franchise and city that loved him to bring his talents down to South Beach. This goes beyond his obvious disrespect for authority or his belittling of his royal subjects. That would be his dumb ass fans and supporters if he still has any. It is about how a guy has conned millions into believing he is what says he is when the cameras are off.
- Over the years I have come to know James as a person who wants things done his way until he is confronted with failure then instead of asking for help or taking responsibility he blames mutherfuckers for following him and not putting a better plan in place. Don't you think it is strange that guys who have been paid millions to coach James all seem to run the same offense consisting of pick and rolls, isolation and James dribbling unmercifully until he launches a 3pt fade away. Remember in THE WIRE when Avon Barksdale got out of prison and he wanted his corners back, but Stringer was trying to show him how they could make money in a different way and improve their quality of life. Avon wanted no parts of that, because he only knows one way and that is his way. James wants all the glory and all the credit, but does not want to accept any blame or criticism.
- I know it is only 18 games in but already LeWrong is already making himself at home and inviting his friends over. He said it was Dwade's team, but I never bought that shit from the start. As LeWrong goes so goes the Heat. Things are so bad that he has convinced Dwade to play the role of Star scream in support of Eric Spoelstra. Dwade was quoted as saying "I'M NOT GOING TO SAY HE IS MY GUY, BUT HE IS MY COACH. Who wrote that shit Maverick Carter LeWrong's business manager. That is exactly how James cons you by not endorsing the guy but not really calling him out either. The sad thing is you would expect more from a guy that helped mentor you over the last five years and spent countless hours with you working on your game. James has convinced Wade that if he wants to win you better roll with me, because I have your back. That' some ICE T in New Jack City shit convincing Nino that he needs to turn his back on his lifelong friend G-Money because that's whats best .
- James has set two of the hardest picks I have ever seen on two of his coaches Brown and Spoelstra and they both said that it happened in the heat of battle. Have you ever walked by your boss lowered you shoulder into him and kept on going without saying a word and have him apologize to you? I even heard some of my colleagues on the four letter network say it happens all the time. Yeah in wrestling, hockey or football to the opposition. Not to your head coach. Once again LeWrong is acting like a spoiled a child and America continues to give him a free pass.
- What is it with him that causes his loyal subjects and faithful dickriders to overlook his transgressions and cast blame onto his victims? I know that no one is perfect, but LeWrong is like a rule breaker masking as a fan favorite and he is laughing all the way to the bank.
- He is a master of playing the media to get his agenda out. You think Chris Broussard really has a inside source. James and Maverick Carter probably handpicked him to be their media stooge and leak inside info to him via THE UNAMED SOURCE. Do you think it is a coincidence that the Heat play the Cavs this week in Cleveland an all this shit with Spoelstra is coming out? That is LeWrong's way of taking the heat off of him and putting it on Spoelstra. Now he has a built in excuse that he was distracted and unprepared just in case he has a bad game or they lose to the Cavs.
- Last but not least how dare Spoelstra demand that LeWrong and his band of merry men take practice seriously and tone down on the clowning around. Doesn't he know that shucking and jiving is what LeWrong does best? By being the first headcoach to call LeWrong out, he has backed him into a corner and now the games will begin. It's only a matter of time before The heat really implode and Riley takes over the reigns, but before then watch LeWrong's every move and see how familiar this plot seems.
- America you are to blame and I pronounce you guilty as charged.

RANDOM TGHOUGHTS
- James purposely bumped his head coach during a timeout in a loss to the Mavericks, because he thinks Spoelstra is in over his head and he doesn't respect him at all. James dick riders are trying to point out that this was a mistake an accident of sorts. Yeah ok I saw the footage. I never saw James apologize or say my bad. He just kept on walking. In all my years of watching sports I never saw Bobby Knight, Buddy Ryan,John Thompson or even Mike Singletary get bumped. You want to know why. Outside of the fact that they would probably whip your ass they were respected win, lose or draw as the head motherfucker in charge. James did the same thing to Brown in Cleveland and he continues this behavior to this day. Maybe Jordan is right instead of making excuses for his lackluster play he should except responsibility get in the gym and work on his supposed god given ability.
- Scared money don't make money. If Tampa Bay is the NFC's finest than the rest of the conference must be real fucked up. What was that shit I watched yesterday? I can respect your commitment to the run, but goddamn you were down 14 how much shit can a bitch take? You had an opportunity to show the world what you could do and that was the best you could come up with. Stick to beating the 49ers, Cardinals, and Seahawks because obviously you are not ready for Primetime.
- I applaud Steve Johnson of the Bills for standing up and facing the music yesterday after dropping what would have been the game winning touchdown in OT against the Steelers. What I don't condone is why that shit happened in the first place. If there is a such thing as a football god he must be a Steelers fan, because from the immaculate reception, to it's a fumble but give it back to the Steelers anyway even though Miami has the ball the Steelers are the luckiest Sons of Bitches in sports period.
- For a coach who prides himself on being a real man Steve Fisher sure does act like a bitch. If Vince Young texted you an apology that shit was meant for you and you only. He didn't tweet the shit or take out an ad in the paper. He texted you. To let everyone know about the text and say that real men don't communicate that way is straight out of the Bitch 101 playbook. Besides what the fuck are you saying I text and tweet motherfucker and I get no complaints at home. You are using the media to get public sympathy on your side and discredit Vince Young in the process. You are trying to make yourself look like a victim when you are the perp. Real men don't create more problems we solve them. Real men don't spread gossip we put an end to it. Take off your dress and high heels and let us real men know when you want to start pissing standing up again.
- Didn't I tell you about Manning last week and his tendency to want to do everything. The Colts I mean Manning abandoned the run early and 4 ints later he was staring at an ass whipping. Make all the excuses for him that you want, but football is a team game that everyone must contribute to if you hope to win. I don't how the greatest QB supposedly in history has as many rings as Trent Dilfer, but yet gets so much props. But then again James is the greatest basketball player on the planet and he hasn't won shit yet.
- In the famous words of the greatest receiver of all time Michael Irvin Give him his due. He takes the blame and the criticism when his team loses now give him his fucking due. Irvin said that about one of the biggest buffoons of all time Barry Switzer. By the way if the Cowboys coming off of back to back chips can respect and follow Switzer why can't a motherfucker (james) who hasn't won anything follow anyone in charge. The man who should be getting props and praise on Sports Center should be Jay Cutler. All he did was beat the hottest QB in sports and help his team maintain a firm hold on 1st place but oh I forgot nobody likes to admit when they are wrong and everyone was wrong about DA BEARSSSSSSSS.
- Michael Jordan is a bad mutherfucker who truly believes he is a god. He lives by the creed of keep my name out of your mouth and we will be fine. When James made his little WHAT SHOULD I DO commercial he opened himself up for criticism and the greatest closer in the history of the game delivered another dagger. I won't ruin it for you check it out on youtube.
- After watching Boise St. lose by three the other night something donned on me. Not only did this officially put them out of the running for a national championship bid, but it marked the end of an era. 3 Years of undefeated ball and nothing to show for it. If the NCAA doesn't see the injustice in that, than Prime Time said it best Must Be The Money.
- Derek Jeter is ruining his clean Cal Ripken like image ,by bitching about the loot. He wants to be paid like Alex Rodriguez while his production looks like Chico Rodriguez. Jeter you got loot, bitches and popularity because you were a Yankee. Put your ass on the Royals and you would be fucking IHOP bitches and playing in front of 5,000 fans. Stop bitching, count your blessings and take that 15 million you ungrateful mutherfucker.
- Last but not least I told everyone that the Lakers fucked up in how they handled Bynum. This mutherfucker might not be back until Dec and meanwhile The Lakeshow has no center. Gasol and Odom have been playing out of their mind, but they are tired and it has been noticeable. If Kobe can come back from surgery and be here on time then fuck it so should Bynum. The Lakers gave him 80 million reasons to be at camp and ready to roll. I just hope Gasol and Odom are still fresh and ready by the time the playoffs roll around, because if they are not you can forget a fucking threepeat.

THE LOWDOWN THANKSGIVING DAY EDITION
This is a special Thanksgiving Day Edition of the LOWDOWN. The hot topic being discussed right now is who is the better QB Manning or Brady. I have debated it, went back and forth over it, loss sleep over it, and gave up having sex until I came up with the correct answer. You want to know what the answer is? The answer is and then we can finally put it to bed BRADY. That's right I said it. I recently visited ESPN studios and gave Jaws, Gruden and Steve Young the privilege of watching film with myself. I analyzed every throw Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have ever made dating back to Manning's nursery school days and I came away with the following conclusion. Manning needs to get some ass and get out more, but more importantly I realized that Manning has the tendency to try to do everything himself instead of utilizing his weapons. He tries to make the perfect read and the perfect throw and there is no such thing. He takes chances, because he believes in his ability to make others better instead of trusting in their ability to help make things easier. Where as Brady takes what the defense gives him and trusts his teammates to make plays. Brady is thankful for and enjoys playing with his teammates as much as they are of him. I get the feeling that in practice you can walk up to Brady and say hey I saw the safety leaning left. I am going to give him a double move and then you can put it up and I will go get it and Brady saying sure let's try it. Peyton on the other hand tells you where you need to be and you better be there. Don't get me wrong Peyton is a bad man, but he has only won one Super Bowl to Brady's three. Manning is a better improviser and Brady is better in a system. I would take Manning first in a pick up game, but not in a NFL game. Brady is the man and it is not even close. Next time you ask yourself who is the best ask yourself one question. Who delivers when it counts,no matter who they are playing with. AND YOU WILL COME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION THAT I DID !!!!!!!!
- Can someone tell Stan Van Gundy that he is not off limits and to call Phil Jackson's comments ignorant and inappropriate make him look like jackass. First of all Phil was talking about something that we already know. Pat Riley can't like what he sees and it is only a matter of time, before he comes back to coaching. Second he is putting even more pressure on the Heat to perform and he is setting Pat Riley up to look like the bad guy if and when he takes over the coaching reigns. Even when Phil is just stating his opinion he sends ripples through out the NBA and throws people off of what is important. Van Gundy you don't even fucking coach the Heat. You should be trying to figure out how to motivate Vince, how to get that thief Rashard Lewis (120 million dollar contract) to contribute, and how to beat the Celtics you Ron Jeremy looking motherfucker.
- I guess two rings, a new contract and some ass from Monica is enough to motivate a sum bitch and turn a dunker into one of the best three point shooters in the league. Shannon Browns transformation is remarkable and should put him in the discussion for 6th man of the year.I guarantee you this year that the Lakers or some other team is going to have to open up the vaults and allow Shannon to cash in. Luke Walton needs some help with his game. I wonder what Sheena Easton or Shania Twain is doing.
- Right now James looks like a man struggling with pressure and Dwade looks like a man trying to carry a team on his back. James brought his talent to South Beach to build his brand and win rings with his boys not be criticized for everything that is wrong with the Heat. The problem with James is he doesn't respect anyone that he deems himself better than. You can see from his interviews which if you close your eyes sounds just like the ones he did in Cleveland, that he doesn't respect his coach Eric Spoelstra. He is basically saying that the team is not motivated, prepared well or having fun on the court. James is a master at throwing his coach under the bus by not really calling him out, but not really endorsing him either. Dwade doesn't know what to do because he recruited Bosh and James and this is supposed to be his team. All I know is the Heat is losing games to inferior teams and I hope they never figure that shit out.
- Dick riding is never a good thing to do and right now America is all over Vick's nuts. The Eagles including Vick have lots of flaws, but that buffoon ass Eli Manning never let it become public record. Even Romo has never tackled himself and stripped himself of the ball. I know Archie taught you better than that. Prior to that the Giants harassed Vick into overthrows and misreads. Yes Vick is a smarter player, but his weakness remains the same. Keep his ass in the pocket and force him into long drives where his accuracy and patience will come into question. No long ball or big running plays equal field goals and possible turnovers. Don't be fooled Vick 2.0 can still be stopped. Only it will be a lot harder.
- I am proud of the way the Boys fought back under Garrett even though they were out coached and out played. Garrett has a ways to go before he can match wits with Sean Payton. The last minutes told me what I already know to be true. Garrett is not ready to win ON THE BIGGEST STAGE YET AND IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE. With 4 minutes to go down 27-23 Sean Payton had his team go for big plays and it resulted in a td. Given the same opportunity with two minutes left and his team down three Garrett played conservative and Payton knew he was. The Saints blitzed three straight times and each time instead of going long for a one on one match up on the outside the Cowboys threw short. The end result a 59 yd field goal wide left. Garrett may learn from this. He might not learn from it. But one thing I know is you play to win the game and Garrett showed me that with an opportunity to go hard he chose the Wade Phillips conservative route instead of the Jimmy Johnson go for it route. Who has rings and who doesn't it.?
- All right I have to be to work early. I'M OUT LIKE ERIC SPOELSTRA.
