THE NFL LOWDOWN WEEK#6 2012

Stereotypes in sports occur so often that we don't even pay attention to them even when they are unfair and sometimes even racist. See if you can tell me what race these characteristics are often associated with. He is a thug, uncoachable, immature,a punk and freakishly and physically gifted. You already know that is why you are smiling. Now try this one. He is heady, fundamentally sound,a gamer, scrappy and he has all the intangibles.Yeah you guessed right on that one too. I listen to a lot of talk radio and I watch a lot of sports programming, so I hear a lot of outlandish things that the average person at home never bats an eyelash about. When Romo or Cutler throw picks they are called gunslingers who take chances. This leaves the audience to believe that they are riverboat gamblers who just happen to be risk takers. When Vick or Newton throw picks questions about their football IQ, maturity and overall knowledge and commitment to the game come up. Viewers are left wondering how these guys ever became quarterbacks and just what the hell do they do during the week when they should be practicing and watching film. I often feel compelled to root for RG3, Cam, Vick and Russell Wilson because they are Black Quarterbacks and believe it or not there is a pride factor involved. It is hard for me to watch guys receive criticism when it comes to their maturity, intellect and work ethic when it is all subjective and they happen to be in the minority. Feel free to criticize their play all day, but when you subject an audience to statements that question work ethic, intellect, maturity, and leadership without foundation I consider this reckless. Having Vick carry around a football all week and having teammates try to knock it out of his hand to me is childish and demeaning. This is the man that you expect the rest of his teammates to follow and respect on game day. Yeah ok good luck with that. Don't get me wrong no man is above being criticized, but when the criticism is stereotypical or has racist overtones that's when I have a problem. Now onto the Lowdown.
  • THINGS I LEARNED FROM WEEK 6
  • You can't count the Ravens out if you want, but I never underestimate the heart of a champion.Football is the ultimate team sport and it takes fundamentally sound play from all facets in order to succeed. The offense and special teams are playing at a high level and if the defense can correct some things against the run I can still them facing either Houston or the Pats in the AFC championship.
  • Russell Wilson outplayed Tom Brady on Sunday and he was the better quarterback for that day. He threw for 297 yards and 3 tds and he didn't game manage shit. Stop looking for the negatives with Pete Carroll and his young QB and give them their fucking due.
  • Andy Reid is a desperate man looking to save his job and Vick is going to end up being collateral damage. Does Vick continue to turn the ball over yes, but last time I checked when you have a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter and shady McCoy in your backfield why are you throwing the goddamn ball. One more question. Why are you paying Asomugha all those greenbacks if you are going to take him off Megatron in the 4th quarter and allow him to catch 100 yards in that quarter alone. For that Andy Reid not Vick should have to answer to the people.
  • Everyone is arguing over whether or not it was Garrett or Romo's fault for the clock management at the end of the Cowboys Ravens game. Who gives a fuck? I have the question that no one is asking. Who in the hell told Romo to throw that dumb ass 1 yard pass to Dez in the first place. Throw that shit out of bounds and go on to the next one. Field position and time mean more than a 1 yard pass. That is buffoonery for your ass.
  • For years Phillip Rivers and the Chargers have been doing the same buffoon shit  that Tony Romo and the Cowboys have done, but for some reason Rivers gets a free pass while Romo gets persecuted. Rivers threw 4 second half interceptions and blew a 24 point halftime lead, yet Norv Turner is the one on the hot seat. Really, Really, Really. Go figure
  • The Pats,Ravens,Steelers and Eagles often get the credit for having the best drafts year end and year out, but I think the Giants have done the best job of building and maintaing a team that has the fewest holes in the NFL. In the age of the salary cap every team is going to have weaknesses, but the team that is able to hide or address those weaknesses the best without sacrificing their strengths are going to have the most success. Looking at the Giants the only real weakness that I see is the CB position and their strong pass rush  helps to nullify that. I hate to say it but we could be looking at a repeat.
  • Rex Ryan will never get the credit that he deserves. He is coaching a team that is not the most talented, but yet he continues to keep his head above water. The Colts just came off of an emotional victory over the Packers and were expected to give the Jets a run for their money. The Jets dominated the Colts and I heard words like lucky and fortunate to describe their victory. For all of the haters and skeptics out there Rex is not a buffoon and he really knows how to motivate and coach. He used a ground and pound attack and he frustrated Luck all day. That's what Rex does so give him credit. Just because he supports his QB and refuses to give in to playing Tebow he is mocked and ridiculed. The one thing you will never get a Ryan to do is go against what they believe in, so judge the man on wins and losses and keep the personal feelings out of it.
  • The Texans were outplayed at home by the Packers and everyone is questioning just how good the Texans are. Last time I checked any team quaretrbacked by Aaron Rodgers with these rules in place favoring offenses is capable of beating anyone anytime in any place.Stop overreacting and let the season play out. At the end of the year the Texans will be 12-4 or 13-3 and hosting playoff games at home.
  • I will no longer do the top 10 rankings, because I believe that it is lazy journalism and there is no rhyme or reason the WWE my bad the NFL. Just look at the stats from the Ravens Cowboys game and you know what I am talking about.
  • I learned that RG3 should be registered as a lethal weapon and if you continue to underestimate his football acumen you will pay dearly. And this is coming from a Deadskin hater. The man is completing 70% of his passes and he is third in QBR .That is frightening for a rookie who should only get better. God help us all.
  • The Nationals, Deadskins and Wizards must have sold their souls to get Steve Strasburg,Bryce Harper, RG3 and John Wall. These guys are well on the way to becoming franchise type players. Well at least 3 of them are. Sorry Mr. Wall.
  • It might be because his first name is Lovie but Coach Smith(THAT IS WHAT I CALL HIM, BECAUSE I BE DAMNED IF I'M CALLING A GROWN ASS MAN LOVIE) does not get enough credit for the job he has done in coaching the Bears to a 4-1 record and a 1st place position atop the NFC NORTH.
  • I learned that when Peyton Manning is your QB it doesn't matter what plays you call, what scheme you implement, or how well you manage the team you will never receive the credit you are due for the part you play in your team's success. It is the price you pay for coaching Peyton.
  • Jerry Jones isn't the only owner throwing his weight around. It is quite obvious that Andy Reid was told to make changes one day after he vowed not make any. He fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo who had been with the organization for 18 years, longer than any coach in Eagles history. When a team with Super Bowl aspirations is only 3-3 somebody has to pay. I hope Vick sees the writing on the wall.
  • I learned that regardless of their moronic acts the Cowboys are all on the same page. If you listen to their comments every time they lose they talk about getting better, learning from their mistakes, supporting one another, accepting responsibility for poor play, and vowing to play better next week. Typical loser, buffoon talk. I want some this is bullshit, fuck that, somebody has to pay, throw somebody under the bus talk. Just saying
  • If the Broncos look this good after 6 weeks. What in the hell are they going to look like by the end of the year?
  • My eyeballs tell me that Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in football. My mind tells me that Brady still is. Aaron Rodgers can run and throw with amazing accuracy and when he gets time he doesn't make bad throws at all. He was getting criticized for not being perfect. That is crazy that his standard is his MVP  season of a year ago.
  • The best middle linebacker in the history of the NFL will be back next year doing what he does, because that's just how Sugar Ray is built. Remember this when everyone else was building franchises around their QB and offenses the Ravens were building around a linebacker their defense. That's just how special this man was. The Ravens were Super Bowl contenders when Kyle should have been a Bowler and Travis Taylor  were the faces of the offense. That's the equivalent of Kobe Bryant playing with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown. Number 52 will me be missed, but not forgotten.
  • I'm out like Mike Vick's job security.

THE NFL LOWDOWN WEEK#4 2012

Do you remember the cautionary tale of the nWo, the most popular faction of stars since the 4Horsemen ran roughshod over the NWA in the 80's? The nWo started out as the most talented trio of wrestlers ever put together in wrestling history.Hollywood Hulk Hogan, The Bad Man Scott Hall, and Big Sexy Kevin Nash destroyed WCW and along the way became the coolest and hippest faction in wrestling. They won titles, destroyed opponents and and their catchphrases and hand gestures became an everyday part of our lives. The nWo was so successful that WCW started destroying WWF in the Monday Night Wars but somewhere along the line things started to change. The nWo went from a dominating cutting edge trio to a still popular, but overcrowded shadow of its former self. They became watered down and DX became the more popular faction of the two. The nWo added the Big Show,Xpac,Marcus Bagwell,Curt Hennig,Horace Hogan,Ray Traylor,Vincent,Stevie Ray and Brian Adams. Meanwhile DX was comprised of  The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels,Triple H, and Chyna. You know what happen to the nWo. Because they were so powerful and popular they could take average talent like Marcus Bagwell and make him into a star just by affiliation alone. Marcus Bagwell by himself couldn't draw flies to shit but with the nWo backing him Buff the Stuff Bagwell became a household name. Instead of staying lean and mean and focusing on the basics they became victims of their own arrogance and started losing the Monday Night Wars. In other words they loss focus and the desire and discipline that made them #1 and it forced them to go out of business. I bring this up because if you close your eyes and think the Dallas Cowboys are just like the nWo. Jerry Jones once upon a time had Jimmy Johnson and the Triplets Emmitt Smith,Troy Aikman, and Michael Irvin as the faces of his organization. Since then he has had Barry Switzer, T.O.,Dave Campo,Wade Phillips,Quincy Carter,Pacman Jones,Ryan Leaf,Roy Williams, and Dez Bryant as the faces of his organization. Some of the biggest buffoons in the history of sports, ut yet throughout it all the Cowboys have remained America's Team.Success came so quickly for Jerry Jones that he ran off Jimmy Johnson for Barry Switzer and even though the Cowboys won a Super Bowl with Switzer things were never the same. Jerry believed as long as he was in charge anybody could wear the star and succeed. It's the nWo syndrome all over again. Take Jason Witten and Demarcus Ware away and you have average to below average guys who because they wear the star are worshipped and scrutinized more than any other team in the NFL. Year after year regardless of the obvious holes that are there Jerry Jones aka Eric Bischoff put these guys in the silver and blue and sells them to the world as the next big thing. Is it fair probably not, but that is the price you pay when you play for Jerry Jones version of nWo. Just because they have a star on their helmet,  that doesn't make them a star. Now onto the LOWDOWN

TOP 10:
1)Texans 4-0 They haven't shown a weakness yet.
2)Falcons 4-0 That drive that Matty Ice engineered from inside his own 5 with no timeouts and less than a minute to go is the stuff that legends are made of.
3)Cardinals 4-0 I still can't explain it which must mean its a team effort.
4)Eagles 3-1 3 victories by a combined 4 points. Just win baby
5)Ravens 3-1 Could a Harbaugh vs Harbaugh Super Bowl BE ON THE HORIZON.
6)49ERS 3-1 The only question I have is can the 49ers can from behind and win
7)Bears 3-1 Fuck da Bears
8)Vikings 3-1 The defense has improved and they have a Seminole playing QB
9)Bengals 3-1 A young team on the rise
10)Giants 2-2 Eli showed he was human, but they are still the team to beat in the NFC EAST
MVP WATCH:
1)Matt Ryan Falcons  #1 rated QB
2)J.J.Watt  Texans 8 sacks
3)Matt Schaub Quietly playing the best QB in the AFC
WHAT I LEARNED FROM WEEK4:
  • My Dallas Cowboys can't get out of their own way and its sad. Read these soundbites. Jason Witten said "The wins haven't shown it, but Jason Garrett is a good coach. WTF!!!!!!
  • Jason Garrett said"Dez Bryant brings a great attitude during practices, meetings, and games. I thought our team responded well to our mistakes Mon night. What fucking game was he watching?
  • Tony Romo said "I tried to do too much. He says that shit after every loss.
  • Jerry Jones said "Overall we met a Chicago Team that made big plays with the ball, they took care of the ball and we didn't and we got be soundly. Once again why is he talking again?
  • Having a good front office and an elite head coach is needed in all sports, but none more than in the NFL. The Saints have always had a suspect defense, but Sean Payton was always able to get the best effort out of his team. 0 and counting should be proof enough.
  • People want Peyton to succeed so bad that they are willing to look past all of his faults. He is still better than most, but that is not the standard he set.
  • Cam Newton is carrying the Panthers on his back and this is only his second year in the league, yet he gets criticized for things like celebrating. Let the man continue to grow and save the criticism for the Jamarcus Russells nd Akilli Smiths of the world.
  • When the Bengals are on TMZ nightly for their transgressions all I hear is how Marvin Lewis can't control his lockeroom and how bad of a coach he is. When he cleans house and has his young team for all of dynamic play makers at 3-1 to start the year all I hear is crickets. I wonder why that is? Give the man his due!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • The Pats erased a 21-7 deficit and defeated the Buffalo Bills and all that was talked about was how the Pats never give up. Fitzpatrick threw 4 interceptions in that game and blew a 14 point lead at home and no one said a word about him. SportsCenter didn't lead off with a typical Fitzpatrick just being Fitzpatrick monologue. I saw no SportsNation poll on whether Tavarus Jackson should be the Bills starter. The point is there are two sides to a story and you can either bury a story or create one.
  • I know that this is not the BCS, but the Houston Texans should be meeting the Alabama Crimson Tide in the National Championship Game. They have been feasting on their competition and with their weak schedule all signs point to them landing in the big dance the Superbowl that is.
  • The difference between Mark Sanchez and Joe Flacco is the front office that they play for and the supporting casts that surrounds them. Switch them both and the results would be the same.
  • Jay Cutler is talented, but he still doesn't know what it means to be a QB in the NFL. If you don't want to be asked dumb ass questions don't do dumb ass shit.
  • It looks like the clock is about to strike 12 on Pete Carroll and his Cinderella Seahawks.
  • Coaches still haven't learned that the icing the kicker strategy doesn't work. Sooner or later someone is going to pay and it was almost check out time for Andy Reid and his Eagles on Sunday.
  • I learned that Tony Romo doesn't just throw regular ints but he hits his defenders right between the numbers that way they don't have to break their stride in route to a pick 6.
  • Joe Flacco is leading the Ravens to victories which isn't a bad thing, but what is bad is the treatment of Kerry Williams by opposing QB'S. He has been victimized more than Penny on Good Times and no man this side of Deon Sanders can defend passes when they are picked on every down. Lucky for Kerry their is only 4 downs.
  • Ask the Packers, Eagles and Giants HOW BOUT THOSE REGULAR REFEREES?
  • I have to cut this short, because my President is on. I will continue tomorrow. I'm out like brother man 5th floor.

THE NFL LOWDOWN WEEK#3 2012

I told you last week that the Cowboys will never win again as long as Jerry Jones is still in charge and I hope that I am wrong, but that never really happens.Today I am here to tell you that if this team does not make a deep run into the playoffs it needs to be blown up. That's right blown up, dismantled, demolished, obliterated and destroyed. Not only do the Cowboys lack the heart, discipline and desire TO BE CHAMPIONS, but they lack the leadership on and off the field that it takes to be successful. This current group of Cowboys doesn't  know what it feels like to win big games let alone what it takes to win them. When your organization has been infested with the foul stench of losing for years who do you turn to for advice, leadership, or guidance to lead you through it. On the field the Dallas Cowboys offense often looks like a Chinese fire drill. The receivers and QB are not on the same page, the offensive line never knows the snap count, and the QB often audibles to a play that obviousally he either made up or no one has ever heard of it.Who is the true leader of this team, because it has never been truly established. Jason Garrett no he has the title, but he takes his direction from Jerry Jones. Tony Romo no his aw golly shucks attitude sucks. DeMarcus Ware is the franchises best player, but that doesn't make you the leader. When it's crunch time who do you see rallying the troops on the Cowboys? Who do they look at to make a play when they are down. Who do they feed off of emotionally? Who has ever won shit on this team and can share their experiences with the other players. The Giants look to Eli to make plays and lead them to victory when they are down. Two Lombardi trophies will do that for you. The Ravens get an emotional lift from Ray when they need it.Have you ever heard his pre game speeches, because he puts King LEONIDAS from 300 to shame. Peyton is constantly teaching both his receiving core and offensive line in games during crucial situations. All I am saying is when you are accustomed to losing and playing mediocre in big games you come to expect it and accept it. It's going to take someone with a I don't give a fuck who you are but I don't accept losing approach to change this culture. Until then Cowboys fans will have to accept mediocrity, buffoonery, and looking real good on paper. I think Dickie V calls  it the all air port team. Where you look good as hell getting on and off the plane? I prefer the look like Tarzan play like Jane analogy. I'm out now onto the LOWDOWN.
  • THE TOP 10:
  • 1)Texans 3-0 This just in the Texans have clinched the #1 seed in the AFC.
  • 2)Falcons 3-0 I know they have to win a playoff game first, but Matty Ice is on fire
  • 3)Cardinals 3-0 Sorry Saints, but I have to refer to the Cards as WHO DAT?
  • 4)49ERS 2-1 One loss doesn't change the fact that they are good.
  • 5)Ravens 2-1 Flacco out dueled Brady FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A ROW
  • 6)Giants 2-1 Eli is picking up where he left off. MVP?
  • 7)Cowboys 2-1 #1 ranked defense.At least Ryan is earning his money
  • 8)Bears 2-1 Keep Cutler upright and Forte healthy and you have a puncher's chance
  • 9)Bengals 2-1 The defense needs to improve, but the offense is legit
  • 10)Chargers 2-1 They played the worst of all the teams in the top 10
  • MVP WATCH:
  • 1)Matt Ryan #1 rated QB
  • 2)J.J. Watt 5.5 sacks 15 tackles and 1 fumble recovery
  • 3)Joe Flacco The offense is his and he ranks ahead of Brees,Brady and Rodgers
  • WHAT I LEARNED FROM WEEK #3:
  • The combination of Flacco and Torrey Smith is better than advertised. Smith reminds me of Flipper Anderson and his 6 catch 127 yard performance on prime time television hopefully will be his coming out party to America.
  • News Flash running backs still have a place in the NFL. Jamaal Charles had a SUPER TECMO BOWL like day for the Chiefs 33 rushes for 233 yards in leading his team to victory.
  • Head coaches have no problem throwing the backup QB under the bus. Lions head coach Jim Scwartz said his team was supposed to try to draw the opposing team offside instead of going for it on 4th down. Well it didn't look that way to me, because the center hiked the ball and the QB dove for the first down marker, so you tell me who is really to blame.
  • No matter what Tony Romo and Jay Cutler do in the regular season, they will ultimately be judged by what they do in the post season.
  • Mike Vick will never ever ever ever catch a break from the media. When Vick has a bad game and is running for his life it is because he doesn't study,  he doesn't read defenses well and he holds onto the ball too long.Aaron Rodgers gets sacked 8 times in one half and all I hear is he didn't have time and they need to run the ball more. See the difference. It's called the benefit of the doubt.
  • Deadskin nation is once again being hit in the face with reality. Your team is not that good. RG3 can ball, but once again Snyder has spent money on a mediocre product.
  • I have no idea what the Cowboys are doing on offense, but I will tell you this having Witten play before he was 100% was a mistake. The offense is better when everyone including the backup receivers and tight ends play a role.A flea flicker, reverse or screen play will slow down a pass rush real quick. I'm just saying.
  • FSU is all the way back as evidenced by the play of Christian Ponder. He led the Vikings single handidly to a victory over the 49ers and he was quoted as saying We need more me and less Adrian P.FSU swagger
  • The Broncos need to let Peyton run the no huddle full time and invest in some better weapons for the future hall of famer. Having Stokley as your go to 3rd down receiver was cool back in 2000, but the Broncos need to upgrade things quickly before the season goes down the tube.
  • Instead of sulking over losing his best defensive player for the season, Rex needs to show the world that no one player is above the crew. This is his chance to show that he is on par with the Bellichecks and Sean Paytons of the world.
  • America's worst nightmare is a Giant's team that establishes itself early. This is the one team in the NFL that once it gets going is damn near impossible to beat.
  • The Packers are looking more and more like a one hit wonder. Football is about more than 4 and 5 wide receiver sets and spread offenses. I call it the curse of Favre.
  • MY TAKE:
  • There was a debate on First Take about which guy that was left out of ESPN TOP 10 NBA PLAYERS LIST most deserved to be on it. Skip said Andrew Bynum and Stephen A said Dirk Nowitski. I say they are both wrong. The man who deserves a top 10 spot has no jump shot, is a walking triple double and is perhaps the best passer in the NBA. He is arrogant, played at Kentucky and he can't stand Judas Shuttlseworth. My pick for the most deserving of a top 10 spot is Rajon Rondo. I will sum his game and my argument up like this if and I MEAN IF HE EVER DEVELOPS A BIG TIME JUMP SHOT HE WILL BE THE BEST PG IN THE NBA IF NOT THE BEST PLAYER. There you go once again I am the voice of reason.
  • STUD OF THE WEEK:
  • This man  caught 6 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns just some 19 hours after learning of his younger brother's death in a motorcycle accident in Virginia. Before the game he tweeted: "CAN'T BELIEVE MY LITTLE BROTHER IS GONE. BE THANKFUL FOR LOVED ONES. THIS IS THE HARDEST THING EVER. To play the defending AFC CHAMPIONS on a Sunday night in front of a national TV audience is hard enough, but to do so after losing a love one can't be put into words. My pick for Stud of the Week is Torrey Smith. I wish there were more men in the world like Torrey Smith and my condolences go out to him and his family for their loss.
  • I am out like the Pittsburgh Steelers in the black hole.

THE NFL LOWDOWN WEEK#2 2012

Nothing changes but the dates on the calendar. Same old bullshit year after year after year. In the famous words of Yvette from the movie Baby Boy "HOW MUCH SHIT CAN A BITCH TAKE!" 11 days after beating the defending Super Bowl champions NY Giants in their building you come out and have your manhood completely taken from you with no Vaseline by the Seahawks. Let me say that again the Seahawks. This organization that hasn't done shit since that buffoon Barry Switzer coached the team back in 95, came into Seattle unprepared, unfocused, undisciplined, and any other un word your ass can come up with. Jason Garrett is proving himself to be just as inept as Wade Phillips, Dave Campo, and Chan Gailey ever were. The game started off with a fumbled kickoff by guy (Felix Jones) who couldn't even pass the off season conditioning tests and who to this day remains unfocused since losing his job to Murray. Why Murray still has a job befuddles me, because if this were the Steelers, Ravens,Pats, or Eagles he would be at home with Dorothy and the rest of her friends skipping his ass down the yellow brick road in hopes of getting some courage, heart and a fucking brain. The fumble was followed by a block punt, an interception, dropped passes, penalties, blown assignments, bad snaps, pink hearts, orange stars,, green clovers, blue diamonds and a partridge in a pear tree.I'm sick of this shit. This ain't the 90's no more.Jimmy Johnson and the triplets aren't walking through that door. I don't want to say this, but I have too. The Cowboys won't win until Jerry Jones sells the team , gives up complete control or the man passes away. He has been the constant presence in the face of all this mediocrity and his choice of Jason Garrett along with his hobby of being GM  has costs this team for years. The Cowboys performance in Seattle shows why they are .500 team at best and no matter how much love we have for them they are still the same old Dallas Cowboys. Now onto the LOWDOWN!
  • WEEKLY TOP 10:
  • 1)49ERS 2-0 If Alex Smith continues to play at a high level SF will remain NFC favorites.
  • 2)Texans 2-0 In the JV circuit the AFC they are the best team if not the best in the league.
  • 3)Falcons 2-0 Asante Samuel maybe the pickup that this team needs to take the next step.
  • 4)Cardinals 2-0 Are they the 4th best team in the NFL. I don't know, but when you go to New England and beat the Pats,Brady, and Bellicheck with Fitzgerald only catching 1 ball that says a lot.
  • 5)Patriots 1-1 If anyone knows how to overcome a devastating injury to his football team it is Bill Bellicheck.
  • 6)Ravens 1-1 You can see where not having T Sizzle hurts their defense, but they are still an elite team.
  • 7)Eagles 2-0 They are the most fraudulent 2-0 team in history, but a win is a win.
  • 8)Giants 1-1 Eli showed you why the game is never over when he is your starting QB.
  • 9)Packers 1-1 This defense needs to face Jay Cutler more often.
  • 10)Chargers 2-0 Stop hating I know their schedule has been weak, but Norv is 2-0 stop the presses.
  • WHAT I LEARNED FROM WEEK#2:
  • Jay Cutler was correct in calling out his left tackle for damn near getting him killed Thursday night against the Packers. He should have laid hands on his head coach, offensive coordinator, and his GM for consistently sacrificing him to the football gods every week with that poor excuse for an offensive line. Brady can go after his offensive coordinator, but Cutler can't confront the man that protects his fucking blindside.
  • Joe Flacco is still a work in progress. Whether or not Flacco can lead the Ravens is still in question after a loss to the Eagles, but as long as Sugar Ray and Easy Ed have his back I will withhold judgement.
  • Who dat nation is now what the fuck nation? You guys can have Jason Garrett if you want.
  • Everyone is crying about the replacement refs, but just remember this. I better not hear shit ever again about bad officiating when the the regular refs come back like we weren't complaining about their asses either.
  • Peyton is trying to show everyone he is back instead of just relying on his play makers to make plays. After missing all of last year no one expects you to be 100%, but you open yourself up to more criticism if you keep trying to play hero ball as Teddy Bruschi calls it.
  • Reggie Bush is not and should not be labeled a bust. He has never  been given the ball on a full time basis and is now just beginning to come into his own. I can't critique a person who was unfairly labeled and pigeon holed into a role by his superiors without being given a chance to fail.
  • I am a firm believer in head coaches not handling multiple duties on a football team, because I believe the team suffers in the long run. Romeo Crennel is in danger of being fired from the Chiefs if this losing continues. Turn the defense over to an assistant so that  you can blame his ass when things don't go right. Better you than him. It is the american way.
  • To the idiot fans of the Deadskins who threatened the life of Josh Morgan after his costly penalty on Sunday obviously being an Internet keyboard gangsta is all you will ever amount to in life.
  • I agree with the Bucs blowing up Eli at the end of the game when he was trying to take a knee, because it ain't over until it's over, but I do have one question. If technically in football you are considered down when your knee touches the ground then isn't it a penalty when you plow into a QB when he is taking a knee. I'm just saying.
  • Jay Cutler's personality and leadership abilities only comes into play when the Bears lose. Go figure.
  •  Rex Ryan couldn't wait to take Tebow out of the game after he was succeeding and put Sanchez back in , because he is afraid of what he created a QB controversy happening in week 2. This is one time in which a head coach put his best interests ahead of his teams in terms of trying to win a game, because it was obvious that Sanchez was struggling and ineffective.
  • Golden Tate blew Sean Lee's ass up and he does not deserve to be fined. A $21,000 fine is not going to take away the pain or embarrassment of the hit on Sean Lee's end of the spectrum or stop networks from exploiting it on TV.
  • Jason Garrett said Felix Jones maybe removed from his kick returning duties and then Jerry Jones said that he wouldn't. For those of you who didn't know Jerry Jones also coaches the Cowboys along with his ownership and GM duties and he is the backup long snapper.
  • Norv Turner made have turned things around with his Chargers, because for years his problems were slow starts. Now they are 2-0. Does this mean playoffs.
  • Complain about replacement refs, blown calls, ticket prices, bounty gate and anything else you can think of all you want, but you are wasting your time because the NFL KNOWS THAT YOU ARE GOING TO WATCH NO MATTER WHAT!
  • RG3 and Andrew Luck are as good as it gets for rookie QB and their franchises are going to be in good hands for years to come. I still hate the fucking deadskins though.
  • MY TAKE:
  •  Stephen A. and Skip Bayless entertain us with their intelligent and funny observations five days a week. I will pick one of their topics once a week and give you my observation which I will call My Take.
  • Tom Brady is absolutely right in not going against Bellicheck and the Pats organization by openly speaking out about Wes Welker's lack of playing time. Brady understands how the Pats operate and that anything you say can and will be held against you at some point down the line. The Pats have a history of playing hardball with aging stars and Welker's case is no different. Because Brady is the perfect company man does not mean that he is not campaigning to get Welker more involved, but that his organization can count on him to support their decisions openly and not let it become a bigger story in the media. Just look at the Cowboys.Besides Brady is not stupid. There is going to come a day when his ass is on the line and hopefully the Pats and Bellicheck remember his loyalty when it comes time to make a decision on him.
  • STUD OF THE WEEK:
  • R.I.P. Steve Sabol. I grew up on NFL films and the story telling Steve Sabol blessed us with year after year. His ability to make you feel like you were actually at the games changed how you viewed the NFL and caused you to separate it from the other sports. The Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field is forever embedded in my brain  because of Steve Sabol, and football became must watch TV instead of just another sporting event to watch.

The NFL LOWDOWN WEEK#1 2012

As I listen to talk show hosts, media pundits and so called analysts spit out their questionable opinions week after week I'm reminded why I am the voice of the people, the voice of reason, and the unquestionable source of sports knowledge and expertise. I want to save my audience from being fed useless and downright scandalous information from the whored of dickriders and hypocritical sports personalities that call themselves the media.I know you are asking yourself why are you so upset Romeo Igromo. I am not upset I'm pissed off, because objectivity and professionalism has been tossed aside in favor of shock jock journalism and WWE style reporting. I'm all for being entertained occasionally when looking at sports tv, but damn don't insult my intelligence. Don't knock Tony Romo and the Cowboys and predict a Giants ass whipping. Then the very next day tell me the Giants were hurt by the lack of talent in their secondary and the fact that the Cowboys wanted it more when the Giants lose. How do you know how bad either team wanted it and further more everyone knows that IF YOU CONTAIN THE GIANTS PASS RUSH YOU HAVE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR DEFENSE. Just look at their 2 Super Bowl runs. Romo can't perform in big games, but when he does I'm told just wait he will implode sooner or later. Well motherfucker last time I checked everyone makes mistakes sooner or later it's just Romo's are magnified, because of the media's constant need to disrespect and sully everything Cowboys related. Here is a prediction for your ass. I bet  you the next time I see two bad bitches getting it on that my dick gets hard.Hatred and jealousy cloud people's perceptions so bad they would have you believe Romo was on Kyle Boller's level. I will go further in detail later in this blog , but just remember most people have an agenda or biases when giving so called objective opinions about athletic endeavors. Now on to the LOWDOWN.
  • WEEKLY TOP 10
  • 1)Patriots 1-0 With an improved defense the formula remains the same. Get to Brady and you can take down the Pats
  • 2)49ers 1-0 The 49ers play a brand of ball that NFL teams from the 90's sit back and smile at. They play an imposing physical style that intimidates and wears teams down.
  • 3)Texans 1-0 They are probably the most well rounded complete team in the NFL and not having Peyton around helps their cause.
  • 4)Ravens 1-0 If and it's a big if they stay healthy the sky is the limit. Ed Reed showed you why the Ravens even without Suggs need to be dealt with and respected.
  • 5)Cowboys 1-0 Beating the Giants in NY showed the world what they are capable of and that inconsistency may be a thing of the past.
  • 6)Falcons 1-0 If their defense can compliment their offense Matty Ice and the Falcons could possibly gey out of the first round this year.
  • 7)Bears 1-0 Jay Cutler with weapons and protection is a dangerous combination for teams that have to play Da Bears.
  • 8)Broncos 1-0 Peyton and the no huddle go together like Puffy(not Diddy)Mase, and Biggie. Enough said.
  • 9)Giants 0-1 The loss of Manningham and Jacobs is bigger than you think.
  • 10)Packers 0-1 Trying running the ball it benefits Rodgers and helps your suspect defense. Just saying

  • WHAT WE LEARNED FROM WEEK 1:
  • That no matter what Michael Vick does he will never be universally accepted. Instead of celebrating his game winning 91 yard game winning touchdown drive all everyone wants to focus on is his 4 interceptions and the fact that he threw the football over 50 times. Had that been Eli Manning or Tim Tebow you would have called it gutsy or clutch, but because it was Vick and people still have an axe to grind with him(Why is his black ass not rotting in prison)he is constantly picked apart win, lose or draw.
  • Rex Ryan is often criticized for being a defensive minded head coach that doesn't have a clue on how to coach a football team, because his team's offensive production pales in comparison to his defense. He is seen as an over glorified coordinator who runs his mouth and will never win the big one. I happen to believe that he is one of the better x's and o's coaches out there and his numbers speak for himself. Does Rex like to talk and brag about how good he is. You damn right, but ask yourself when analyzing and comparing him to Andy Reid or John Harbaugh  why is he constantly questioned and scrutinized by the media and  yet those guys get passes even though they coach more talented teams(Eagles and Ravens)  and haven't won Super Bowls either.hhhhmmmmmmmmm
  • The 49ers are for real and Alex Smith is as good as advertised. His yards per attempt were higher than Eli's,Rivers,Brees, Cutler, Rodgers, Brady and Big Ben on Sunday. They have a Super Bowl winning formula going on and winning in Lambeau only strengthened that argument. Picking up Jacobs,Manningham and Moss  to go with Gore and that defense make them NFC favorites.
  • Andy Reid's belief in his ability to make quarterbacks into stars is going to get Vick killed and himself fired.
  • If the Deadskins continue to use RGIII in the fashion that they did on Sunday the NFL is in trouble. RGIII is the remix version of Randall Cunningham. The Deadskins are doing what a lot of other coaches fail to do or refuse to do and that is tailor your offense to the strengths of your QB.If teams are willing to make acceptions and do it for Tebow then why can't guys like Vick and Dennis Dixon get to work in systems that showcase what they do best. I'm going to leave it at that for now before I start preaching to the congregation.
  • I still like Brady more, but Peyton showed me Sunday night why he is regarded by many as the greatest of all time. He played a human game of chess with Dick Lebeau and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers defense with his mind as well as his arm. I don't think their is another man in the NFL that could have orchestrated that kind of victory Sunday night.
  • Julio Jones, Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez give Matt Ryan all A level targets and no excuses for failure in the playoffs this year.
  • To some this may sound blasphemous but its just my observation. I believe that on the football field not in the lockeroom or classroom that Ed Reed is every bit as good as Ray Lewis. Ray Lewis is the unquestioned leader of the Ravens, but ask any QB who they look out for and game plan against and they will tell you Ed Reed. Just like Chris Carter all Ed does is score touchdowns. Take Ed Reed off the Ravens and a lot of the fear factor that QB's have throwing the football against the Ravens goes away.We know Ray is one of the greatest players in the history of the game, but just because Ed Reed doesn't have his charisma or likability doesn't mean that he isn't just as good. I also believe that it is criminal that he doesn't have a ring by now.
  • I was going to do my yearly predictions, but that's just not smart, because there are too many factors that lead into determining the outcome of a game. So what I will do is give my weekly picks with and without the spreads. I will predict this though. It will be an all Texas Super Bowl with the Cowboys playing the Texans.
  •  Drew Bees is not Peyton Manning. He needs Sean Payton's system and coaching expertise to reel him and guide him like every other QB in the league.
  • The word elite is used to much to define good QB play. You know what I'm going to call a spade a spade. Right now only Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are great quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers and Big Ben are on their way and that's it. Drew Brees, Tony Romo and Eli Manning are very good, but have a lot of work to do. The Hall of Fame is for the very best not very good. Watch Peyton and Brady perform and then you will see what I'm talking about.
  • STUD OF THE WEEK:
  • To Art Modell a true pioneer in the NFL and the man that was responsible for bringing football back to Baltimore when we were told to build more museum. Modell was instrumental in negotiating the leagues increasingly lucrative television contracts including the first prime time thanksgiving game in 1966 and the opening Monday Night Football broadcast in 1970. The fact that this man is not in the Hall of Fame is down right ireprehensible and says a lot about the selection process that constantly denies his entry. I will end it like this. I can't tell the fans of Cleveland how to feel, but at least Mr. Modell had the decency to leave your name, colors and history of your team there for your city. May you R.I.P ART MODELL AND THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING US TO ENJOY FOOTBALL HERE IN BALTIMORE AGAIN.
  • Out of respect for Art Modell there will be no buffoon of the week. Thanks
