I am not an NFL Owner, Gm, Head coach, Asst. Coach, Scout, Analyst, or Play by Play man, but I do pride myself on being able to make accurate assessments and back them up with very convincing arguments. People who are in those positions are there because they have shown the ability to perform there job requirements to the best of their abilities regardless of the backlash and second guessing they are bound to receive. On Monday Nov 8, 2010 Jerry Jones owner of the Dallas Cowboys the most recognized franchise in all of sports decided he had enough and fired his head coach Wade Phillips son of Bum Phillips who was son of Grandpa Buffoon Phillips. This action was applauded by the football community and was seen as a sign that things will be changing in Big D. Bullshit. I have a problem with this and every fucking move Jerry Jones has made since he fired Jimmy Johnson. The firing of Wade Phillips came two years too late and Jason Garrett's punk ass should have been fired too. Two years ago the Cowboys played the Eagles in the last game of the year with the winner going on to the playoffs. They lost 44-6 with the goddamn season on the line. If that is the best performance a team can give under your watch with the season on the line then your ass needs to be fired. Remember how Texas Stadium was closed down with a loss to the Ravens and the new stadium was opened up with a loss to the Giants. Just last year the Cowboys got their ass tapped by the Vikings in the playoffs by a score of 34-3 in yet another winner take all clash. Don't get me wrong it is not all Wade Phillip's fault, but how in the hell can you explain the Cowboys performances in big money games during his tenure. I can see if they played hard and lost close games, but these dreadful performances on Prime Time TV in front of the millions and the millions of fans watching at home on live TV were nothing short of embarrassing. For Jerry Jones to say he had just reached his breaking point tells me that either this man has no idea what is going on or he just can't admit when he is wrong no matter what the consequences are. I think he enjoys being in control so much that the thought of turning his team over to a competent head coach makes him severely ill. Don't be fooled by Jerry Jones the owner, because he is still the GM and until he realizes that he is the one responsible for this shit I have been forced to watch for years nothing will ever change. Most of the Cowboys players best years are behind them and I just hope that the next generation of Cowboys aren't forced to go through the same shit because of Jones over sized ego and lack of common sense. Hire A GM AND A HEAD COACH AND FALL BACK AND PLAY YOUR POSITION. Now on to the LOWDOWN.
- THINGS THAT I LEARNED:
- While missing Gates, Floyd, and Jackson Rivers stilled managed to throw for 4 touchdowns in route to a victory over the Texans. He leading receiver was the the great grandson over Desmond TuTu , Seyi Ajirotutu who had 4 catches for 111 yds. and 2 tds. Come to think of it he has been doing this all year while people like Keyshawn Johnson have been calling his team out for their lackluster play. His leadership during these critical times without keys components of his team there have positioned him to possibly be MVP of the league. Don't look now, but with 2,944 yds he is on pace to break Marino's record.
- First there was Csonka, then Riggins, then James now you can add Hillis to the group of overpowering white running backs who make opposing defenses dread tackling them on Sundays. I should have known he was legit when he ran over the Ravens, but now he is showing that it was no fluke. It was nice to see the Mangenius get props for out scheming Bellicheck and making him walk his ass across the field and say good job.
- Is it just me or is the NFL more fun when the Siver and Black are relevant. I grew up hating the Raiders and everything they stood for from their dirty play, to the Black Hole, to their dreaded fan base called Raider Nation. It was nice to see them playing a meaningful game and all on Sunday, but I will tell you this though i still dislike their asses and can't wait until they are once again the most hated franchise in the NFL.
- In all of my years of watching football I have never seen a more polarizing figure than Brett Favre. Whether you love or hate him you are drawn towards him and the ratings back up this observation. On Sunday Brett Favre turned back the clock and does what he does best. Put his team on his back and carry them to victory. Doesn't he have have a severe ankle injury, and an elbow injury and a problem with a finger on his throwing hand. Not to mention he is 76 years old, walks with a limp and enjoys showing his bozack to women via picture mail. Gotta love the man.
- I was telling my boy Brad Piff that I think Ochocinco has as many touchdowns as he does reality shows. What does it say about his skills when T.O. has become Palmer's favorite weapon and Marvin Lewis chooses to bench his ass in the Steelers game with their season on the line. I hope your TV career pans out, because it looks like your leading man days in the NFL are coming to a close.
- You know the best thing about Sunday. I didn't have to look at the worst brand of ball imaginable. Deadskin football.
- Did anyone see that 6 foot 10 inch Brandon Marshall alligator arm that ball late in the game that Ed Reed picked off. His awesome vertical leap of 2 inches was a sight to behold. Fucking coward.
- 3 Ints in two weeks. Ed Reed is a bad motherfucker. Fuck you, fuck them, and fuck everybody that has a problem with Mike Lowery. I mean Ed Reed. 1st ballot hall of famer in my book.
- Jerry Rice the greatest football player of all time as voted by THE NFL NETWORK. GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE WITH THAT BULLSHIT. I'm going to create my own list and correct that ingredius mistake by making Billy Whit Shoes Johnson the greatest football player ever.
- Clay Matthews is having a helluva year and is on pace to become the NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He has 11 sacks 1 int and countless highlight reel hits. First Charles Woodson and now Matthews who the fuck is their D Coordinator?
- The Giants look awesome and it pains me to say that shit. The Book of Eli is playing well and Coughlin is well Coughlin. I don't know how he does it , but no coach is better at circling the wagon and rallying his troops.
- That deep pass that Vick threw on Sunday to Jackson was reminiscent of Randell Cunningham in his heyday. Beating Peyton head to head is a big accomplishment and each week that Vick performs well he shuts up his critics. Say what you want about his unorthodox play, but while he may never be what you want him to be he is happy just being the player that he was born to be. Go get them Vick.
- HIGH FIVE:
- 1ST GIANTS 6-2 PLAYING AT A HIGH LEVEL ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL
- 2ND RAVENS 6-2 WHEN RICE AND WILLIS ARE ROLLING SO ARE THE RAVENS
- 3RD STEELERS 6-2 ALWAYS WELL PREPAIRED
- 4TH JETS 6-2 NEED TO ESTABLISH THEIR PHYSICAL DOMINANCE AGAIN
- 5TH SAINTS 6-3 WAIT UNTIL THEY GET REGGIE BACK
- BUFFOON OF THE WEEK:
- Patrick James Riley is my Buffoon of the week. Why you must be asking yourself? He is the one who had the ultimate say in signing Chris Please don't get Squeeze the Charmin Bosh. I can't blame Bosh for taking the money, but I can laugh at you for giving it. Bosh made Omekar Okafur look like Wilt last week. Okafur had 26 and 13 on 12 out of 13 shooting. What the fuck? Tuesday night the man known as Milsap had 44 and 6. What are you waiting for Riley Big Baby to go for 30 on Bosh? Right now Shawn Bradley is working with Greg Ostertag on his footwork so that he can comeback and bust your ass. The Celtics are drawing up iso plays for Lucky Charms Nate Robinson to back you up in the post and score on you. All that flexing and growling you did on stage prior to the season starting made you look foolish considering you were the leader of the Raptors when Kobe dropped 81 on your asses. Just because you wear black that don't make you a tough guy. Pat you should have known this and told Bosh I want you but not at this price. Pat gimps don't make good enforcers or rebounders. Bosh admitted that he was lost out on the floor and unsure of himself. I guess this is why Jerry Jones doesn't allow other motherfuckers to spend his money. I would like to call Bosh a Buffoon, but he has over 120 million different why you are and for that reason alone Pat Riley you are the buffoon of the week.
- I'm out like the Heat in O.T.
