LeBron James is the perfect example of looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane. Listed at 6'8'', 250lbs he is a match up nightmare for any player on the court. Even though he is often compared to Magic Johnson (the Michael Jordan comparisons have been put to bed Scottie), his game to me seems to be more like Grant Hill. I apologize Magic for putting you in this, but then again you deserve it for dick riding James in the finals and offering his ass advice.  Grant was 20pts 10reb 7ast for the Pistons in 1995-1996 just his second year in the league and until he got hurt his first year with the Magic he routinely flirted with triple double numbers. His last year in Detroit he was 26pts 7reb 5ast. Like LeBron Grant could do it all, but he failed to live up to the Jordan comparisons, because his game and demeanor were nothing like Jordan's. Grant managed 7 all star trips, 1 all NBA 1st team and 4 all NBA 2nd team births despite injuries that robbed him of 5 years of playing at his physical peak. LeBron much like Grant is a jack of all trades and a master of none.To me his defensive skills consists of guarding smaller guards who have no jumpers and running people down on the break. In this years finals Lebron averaged 17pts 7reb 7ast . Those numbers are fantastic if your last name is Odom or Pippen, but when you have THE CHOSEN ONE tattooed on your back more is expected. I guess what I am saying is maybe this is who Lebron is. A talented player who prefers to let others shine while he pretends to lead them to victory while casting doubt on those same players in defeat by taking a backseat and saying he is a team player.Instead of a triple double Dwade and your teamates needed you to drop 30 and guard the German Moses Dirk. Hey LeBron I bare witness and what I testify too is that your game is less Michael Jordan and more Ben Gordan. Now onto the LowDown.

• Memo to David Stern: If you allow teams to franchise their best players you might have less movement of superstars and better competitive balance throughout the league. I'm not saying take away free agency rights. I'm saying that if only Toronto were allowed to max out Bosh and anyone else attempting to sign him could only offer less,we would really see how bad he wanted to go to see South Beach. Imagine the Heat offering 80 million and the Raptors offering 120 million. Now you get the picture.
• One more thing players do like being on TV, so more exposure might compel them to stay in smaller markets. In the NFL the Packers, Ravens and Steelers get as much face time as the Cowboys, Jets and Pats. Just a thought.
• It is funny how the Internet and social media such as Twitter and Facebook has changed how we view players. In his day Barkley was a handful, but much like Shaq he refused to take care care of himself and I believe it costs him in the championship dept. If he was playing now and was was forced to be under the microscope 24/7 who knows what he would have done or said out of his mouth. Can you imagine all the kiss my ass and fuck you comments guys like Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith would have received after questioning his dedication or work habits. Remember this is the same guy who spit on a girl sitting in the crowd at a game and who threw someone through a window in a bar. Damn I could only imagine.
• When did Jordan become the only standard by which we judge individual greatness? Ever heard of Bill Russel or Kareem Abdul Jabarr? In the 80's the standard were CHAMPIONSHIPS. In the 90's it became MVP'S,STATS,CHAMPIONSHIPS,GAME WINNING SHOTS, AND PLAYING BOTH ENDS OF THE COURT WHILE SELLING THE MOST SHOES AND LOOKING THE BEST ON AND OFF THE COURT. Now it is all of the above, plus you can't lose in the finals, because Jordan never did. Remember Jordan never failed in the NBA according to A PIMP NAMED STERN so anything less is unacepptable.
• I would love to see how Michael Jordan would fair today with guys who are his height and taller that posess the same physical tools he does. In Jordan's day if you were 6'9'' and bigger your ass was in the paint not at the top of the key. 7 footers like Garnett and the German Moses Dirk who have all around floor games would have been playing center and banging with Moses Malone not shooting threes and causing matchup nightmares.Today you have small forwards and shooting guards who are 6'9'' and 6'10'' and they are changing how the game is played on both ends. Outside of Drexler and later Penny and Kobe, Jordan mostly competed against Starks, Miller, Dumars, Scott, Ainge, Hornacek, Ehlo, Mahrle,Hersey Hawkins, Byron Russell, Blackman, and Calbert Chaney to name a few. To me he was never physically challenged by someone at his positon until his latter years in the league. I'm not taking anything away from Jordan, but shooting over Ehlo is a helluva lot different than shooting over Battier or Shawn Marion. Can't a brother dream?
• What ever happened to Michael Redd?
• Dirk used to be soft, but now that he has a ring so we  have to call him a finesse player which still means soft in the U.S.. Imagine Dirk banging down low with Oakley, Mason, Buck Williams,Truck Robinson, Grand MaMa, and Otis Thorpe. Yeah OK.. Sorry Dirk
• One last thing over the course of the season and playoffs I really developed a dislike for Chris Bosh. I hated everything from his fake ass growl to his bitch ass high fives, but what really set me off was his damn damn damn damn falling to his knees, I can't go no further, take me instead routine at the finals in game 6. He look like he was at a funeral and he just loss his wife or significant other in his case and that he couldn't go on without them. Mother$#@!$ please you never played in anything more significant in your life, so f*&@ are you crying for. Save that sh%# for Jordan, Kobe and Dirk. Even if you never win a damn thing you should be laughing all the way to the bank you tootie frutie, don't squeeze the Charmin bitch@## trick.
• On that note I'm out like James and his championship hopes. In honor of Lebron James day in Cleveland they let schools out 12 minutes early and don't bother asking him for change for a dollar because he only has 3 quarters.

RANDOM THOUGHTS ON NBA PLAYOFFS

1. Kendrick Perkins is one of the most overrated and overvalued players in the history of the game. His career playoff and regular season averages are 6 pts and 6 reb a game. The Celtics, The Thunder and countless buffoons around the league tell me that Perkins is the best low post defender in the game. Then what the hell is Dwight Howard? If by the best low post defender you mean mugging mutherfuckers and intimidating European players then next to Kenyon Martin he is the best. All of you sum bitches owe guys like Mutombo, Mourning and Ben Wallace an apology for ever putting Perkins and best defender in the same sentence.
2. Establish the criteria for the MVP AWARD please. What good is giving a guy the MVP award when clearly  he is not the best player in the league let alone his conference.Derrick Rose had a good season, but would you take him over Howard, James,Wade,Durant,Paul, or even Dirk. Hell no!!!! Here is a thought wait until after the season to give the award out and then there will be no argument as to who truly earned the award. If you gave it to Dirk, Wade or James no one would argue about it. Just a thought.
3. Change the current playoff format and reward the higher seeds with more home games and you will  have  more competitive games in the regular season. The reward for the Spurs finishing as #1 seed and Memphis finishing as the #8 seed was one more home game for the Spurs.. Remember Memphis threw games at the end to get the matchup with the Spurs. Would they have done this if it meant only having 2 home games in a 7 game series. Just a thought
4. Pippen criticized Boozer for his play in the clutch in the playoffs as if he didn't sit his ass down and refuse to enter  game 3 of the 1994 semi final playoffs against the Knicks with his team down 0-2. Don't act  like Jordan didn't bail your ass out over and over again with his clutch play. It is really easy to criticize others when you have an overflated sense of self value. My bad why am I criticizing you. You did give us one of the most intelligent observations of all time  when you said James is better than Michael. I'm just saying
5. Can the Lakers please get a PG and stop having the tag team of PICK and ROLL burn your asses year after rear?
6. Dwight stop fooling yourself into thinking that by staying in Orlando that you are somehow distancing yourself from Shaq and that you will somehow deliver a Championship to the city of Orlando single handidly. Unless your supporting casts changes dramatically you are not even the best team in your own state.  You really are dillusional I mean Superman if you think you can beat the Heat with that shit you call a team.Get out while you can. 7. Memo to the NBA can you please hold the drawing for the Lottery in front of us or reward the worst team with the #1 pick.  The Timberwolves were not throwing games last year. They are that damn bad. Having the Cavs get the number #1 pick is straight out of a comic book. In the famous words of Spike Lee DO THE RIGHT THING.
8. Have you ever seen a man more at peace with their retirement than Shaq? There were no tears, no regrets or no apologies. Say what you want, but the Daddy did things his way, was a natural trailblazer, and he charmed and manipulated the media like no other. Reitrements are often seen like funerals with tears flowing and sadness filling the room, but Shaq's retirement was all about a celebration of his NBA career and an anticipation of his next career venture. Long live THE DADDY!!!!! 
9. Shaq often feuded with Howard and said he was offended whenever they were compared. At his retirement he took one more shot at Howard and said that he was retiring the SUPERMAN nickname. The problems with today's players are they are so used to be handed shit that they don't even know when they are being called out or how to defend themselves. Shaq for what ever reason never liked David Robinson or Patrick Ewing two of the best centers during his era and he played with ruthless aggression whenever their paths crossed. Shaq never openly disrespected those guys , but he knew he had to show them on a nightly basis who the Daddy was.What did Dwight ever do to Shaq to earn  his respect or the nickname Superman.?
10. Stop comparing Dirk to Bird. I am going to say this one time and one time only. There will never ever be another Larry Bird. Just because Dirk is white and can shoot the hell out of the ball does not make him Larry's equal. Go back and pop in tape of Larry talking shit and destroying guys like Dr.J in the 80's and then look at Dirk having his ass handed to him by guys like James Posey and you will see why those comparisons are not only short sighted but downright buffoonish.
11. I'm out like Chris Bosh's manhood.

THE NBA AND THE WWE ARE ONE AND THE SAME

Is it just me or does today's NBA look more like a wrestling show than a sporting event? The off the court drama is more compelling than the game itself. A PIMP NAMED STERN would have it no other way as he digs into the WWE playbook to run his product. Today's NBA is filled with betrayal, lust, blindsiding, secret meetings, surprise trades,heel and face turns and a whole lot more drama than even OPRAH could conjure up.. Ratings are up, money is being made and Stern is pulling the strings like the master puppeteer that he is.

• LeBron James the humble superstar from Akron used to be a fan favorite. He was beloved by millions and seen as the future face of the NBA. From his throne in Cleveland he had his fans wearing Nike, eating McDonald's, drinking Sprite, buying State Farm insurance and saying their prayers and eating their vitamins, but something unexpected happened along the way. He couldn't manage to win the big win one no matter how hard he tried. The last straw was when THE BIG SHOW Shaq came in to watch his back and he still couldn't beat the HBK THE SHOWSTOPPER Kobe Bryant. Enough of this shit. Fuck the fans, my sorry ass crew and my manager. I need some real help if I am going to defeat HBK Kobe Bryant.
• This is where A PIMP NAMED STERN, SCOTT HALL AKA DWADE AND BIG SEXY CHRIS BOSH CAME INTO PLAY. Stern told LeBron I love you and I always wanted you to be the man, but we have to find a way to take down HBK Kobe Bryant. I got it you will hold a press conference at the Boys and Girls club to announce you are going to South Beach, but for this to work you have to visit other teams and give the impression that you are undecided. If you play the media the way I tell you Hollywood James you will be the man in know time and no one will see it coming. Funny thing happened though. The fans and the media turned on him. With this plan in place the NWO WOLFPAC was born in South beach. Hollywood James, The Lone Wolf Dwade and Big Sexy Chris Bosh would soon unleash their terror on all of the NBA for having the audacity to dare boo their greatness. Stern knew this would happen and ratings would go through the roof. His #1 babyface turning heel was a stroke of genius and something the NBA needed to make the product more interesting.
• For this to work though others had to play along. In return for winning a ring 3 years ago the Celtics had to shock the world and trade Kendrick Perkins for no reason at all. HBK Kobe Bryant was attacked in Japan by unknown thugs, underwent surgery and much like HBK played in pain all year without giving up. Gasol played the role of Starscream and turned on Phil and the Lakers by sabotaging them from the inside. Stern paid Gasol off and he played his role well. He used the sweet nectar of his girlfriend to make the other Laker players soft. Straight out of the Shane Douglas playbook of ass offering.
• While all of this was going on Carmello was playing the role of Jeff Hardy fighting for his team, but really wanting to jump shit. A PIMP NAMED STERN needing a face in TNA AKA New York and told the Charismatic Enigma Carmello to hold on and he would get him to New York faster than he got Hollywood James out of Cleveland. There was one catch though. With the NWO in Miami playing the heel role Mello would have to play the role of face. Accept you beatdown and smile about it bitch if you want to be in NY or keep your monkeyass in Denver was Stern's message to Mello. Nothing was going to keep him from keeping his promise to Hollywood James. Seeing a big payday ahead and tv time with the NWO Mello saw it as a no brainer. I will for Hollywood anytime. Hell I laid for HBK Kobe Bryant for years.
• How did Kobe become HBK? Stern struck a deal with his ass after Colorado and told him after years of being the top heel he wanted him to embrace his fans and teammates and become a face. In doing so he had to play on the Olympic team and play big brother to those fools he hated. He had to embrace James, Mello and Wade and instead of offense he had to lead by playing defense. Masterful!!!!!! Kobe became a fan favorite over night and he was seen as a leader and unselfish by all of the world while leading team USA to the gold. He replaced LeBron as the top fan favorite and HBK Kobe Bryant was born. His endorsements went through the roof and the media and the fans were loving him. THEY CHANTED MVP FOR HIM IN PHILLY AND BOSTON. That's a transformation for your ass.
• Now Kobe is in hiding talking to Stern about his next move. I think he will come out like Randy Orton a rule breaker that is loved by all next year, but never hesitates to start shit.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar questions Scottie Pippen's argument that LeBron James ‘may be the greatest player to ever play’

In a nearly two-week span, former Lakers center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar went from questioning the Lakers' loyalty to questioning Scottie Pippen's claim that LeBron James "may be the greatest player to ever play."
After arguing that the Lakers' failure to honor him with a statue serves as an example of the team disrespecting him, the NBA's all-time leading scorer is now arguing Pippen's willingness to prop up James on the heels of the Heat-Mavericks NBA Finals matchup reflects his lack of appreciation for NBA greats such as Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell and even Pippen's former teammate, Michael Jordan himself.
You may agree with Abdul-Jabbar's assessment that a statue honoring him is long overdue and that he holds the credibility to question Pippen's knowledge on NBA history. You may disagree with the tactics, believing his public gripes about the Lakers come off as sour grapes and chastising Pippen comes across as bullying. But it still makes for interesting reading.
So without further ado, here is Abdul-Jabbar's open letter to Pippen, which was recently obtained by The Times:

How Soon They Forget: An Open Letter to Scottie Pippen
Dear Scottie,
I have nothing but respect for you my friend as an athlete and knowledgeable basketball mind. But you are way off in your assessment of who is the greatest player of all time and the greatest scorer of all time. Your comments are off because of your limited perspective. You obviously never saw Wilt Chamberlain play who undoubtedly was the greatest scorer this game has ever known. When did MJ ever average 50.4 points per game plus 25.7 rebounds? (Wilt in the 1962 season when blocked shot statistics were not kept). We will never accurately know how many shots Wilt blocked. Oh, by the way in 1967 and 68, Wilt was a league leader in assists. Did MJ ever score 100 points in a game? How many times did MJ score more than 60 points in a game? MJ led the league in scoring in consecutive seasons for 10 years but he did this in an NBA that eventually expanded into 30 teams vs. when Wilt played and there were only 8 teams.

Every team had the opportunity to amass a solid nucleus. Only the cream of the basketball world got to play then. So MJ has to be appraised in perspective. His incredible athletic ability, charisma and leadership on the court helped to make basketball popular around the world -- no question about that. But in terms of greatness, MJ has to take a backseat to The Stilt.
In terms of winning, Michael excelled as both an emotional and scoring leader but Bill Russell’s Celtics won eight consecutive NBA Championships. Bill's rebounding average per game is over 22.5 lifetime, MJs best rebounding years was eight per game (1989). But we will never know exactly how many shots Bill Russell blocked because again, they never kept that statistic while he played. However, if you ask anybody that played against Russell, they will just roll their eyes and say he blocked all the shots he wanted to block in the crucial moments of a game.
Bill played on a total of 11 championship teams and as you very well know, Scottie, the ring is the thing, and everything else is just statistics. So I would advise you to do a little homework before crowning Michael or LeBron with the title of best ever. As dominant as he is, LeBron has yet to win a championship. I must say that it looks like Miami has finally put the team together that will change that circumstance. Its my hope that today’s players get a better perspective on exactly what has been done in this league in the days of yore.

The Real Reasons Why The Lakers Didn't ThreePeat

Initially I wanted to blame Paul Gasol and his soft ass post defense as the sole reason why The Lakers were bounced from the playoffs, but looking back on it I saw this shit coming from a mile away. The Lakers and Phil Jackson have been playing with house money for years. All they wanted to do was squeeze another championship in and then make changes, but along the way being loyal and arrogant cost them in a big way. Celtics aside only the Jordan led Bulls can boast of multiple threepeats and Kobe, Fisher, and Phil had a chance to make history. The following post  will detail what really happened to the Lakers and how mismanagement, bad coaching and terrible on court play costs The Lakers a chance to make history.

• When I look back on what went wrong with the LAKESHOW I start with the date July 12,2007. For it was on this day that Luke Theodore Walton was signed to an assanine 6yr 30 million dollar contract. Wasn't that about the same amount the Lakers let Trevor Ariza go to the Rockets for.(5yrs 33million).For 5 million this year the Lakers got 1.7pts 1.2 reb and 1.1 assists. Either Luke has pictures of Jerry Buss partying with school boys or the Lakers are participating in the make a wish foundation and helping to make Luke's dream of being a NBA player come true. It is this contract that to this day causes the Lakers to low ball better players and keeps them from being players at the trade deadline.
• The decision to continue to start Derek Fisher at PG has hurt this team for years. Don't get me wrong I love Derek and all his contributions to the Lakers, but his best days are long gone. His inability to keep guys in front of him and break down the Lakers defense has been detrimental to their success for years. He has never been a play maker or big time scorer which begs the question of why The Lakers never addressed this situation. It was all about loyalty. I can understand this but it is one thing to have Rondo,Paul,Williams or Rose break down your defense, but when Jarrett Jack,J.J.Barea, and Aaron Brooks look like Isiah Thomas while they are torching your defense it is time for a change. Phil loves big guards like Brian Shaw and Ron Harper and I can't understand why someone like Larry Hughes was never picked up and given a shot to help this team. Loyalty and ego I tell you is a sum bitch.
• When I watch Kobe Bryant I see A man who never gets easy shots because of the guys he plays with. Can you remember the last time Kobe was set up with an alley oop or scored on a fast break dunk. At this point in his career he should be in the low post either passing out of a double team or shooting a 10- 12 ft turnaround. Not trying to constantly beat his man off the dribble. If he played with a distributor and spent more time in the post he would become more efficient and even more dangerous on the court. Also having him play pick and pop with Gasol and Odom more often would help with his transition. Kobe works to hard to get his shot off and his spends to much time chasing around point guards. He is one of the better defenders in the game and he needs another wing defender like Ariza to help him like Jordan used Scottie.
• Letting Ariza go and acquiring Artest looked good on paper, but I never liked it. Ariza was an athletic wing player in his prime who was the Lakers best defender in the playoffs and often came through in the clutch. He was Kobe's running mate and gave his team a glimpse of showtime with his ability to finish on the break. Imagine Kobe, Ariza, and Shannon Brown on the break. Wicked. You know what's funny is Kobe probably is the slowest and has the worst vertical of the three. Now that's saying something. Artest has failed to become the player the Lakers envisioned when they let Ariza go. He is slow, doesn't intimidate anymore and can't finish strong at rim they way he used too. If the Lakers could get 15 every night with strong defense from Artest there would be no complaints, but combined with Luke they average 10.2 pts 4 reb and 3 assist all while making a combined 11 million a year. With his 6pts and 4 reb a game Matt Barnes should be starting.
• While the Heat, Mavs, Bulls , Knicks, Thunder, Magic and Celtics all made changes for good or bad the best the Lakers could muster was signing Blake, Barnes, Ratliff,and trading for Joe Smith. What if they had acquired a Battier or Peja at the trade deadline. A strong perimeter athletic defender and a reliable 3 pt shooter are what this team is missing.
• Remember Sasha, Vladimar, and Farmar, from the Lakers team 4 years ago that led the league in scoring. Who is the Lakers most consistent shooter right now outside of Kobe? Right they don't have one. Teams around the league surround their stars with shooter like  Korver, James Jones, Peja, and Terry to name a few. If you can't make a defense pay for taking away your number 1 option you are going to have a quick exit from the playoffs.
• The next area of concern was the Lakers coaching staff. Say what you want about the Lakers lack of offense, but I think Monty Williams and Rick Carlisle out coached Phil Jackson and really exposed the Lakers weaknesses . Both teams used the deadly combination of Pick and Roll at nausea to beat the Lakers. Either they never devised a game plan to combat it or the players refused to execute it. Either way it was sickening to watch the same play work time after time after time. Evertime Paul ran pick and roll and he ended up with Bynum on him he jayed his ass up or was fouled. Where was the adjustment? Why was Paul never trapped or why wasn't Chandler or Haywood made to beat the Lakers?
• Is it just me or does Phil Jackson have a problem with playing his young players. If athleticism is what you need then why don't you get Derrick Character and Devin Ebanks in to the game. Other teams in the league try to be more effiecient of offense and save their energy for playing defense and rebounding. The Lakers work hard on offense and play some of the weakest defense I have ever seen. Odom and Gasol refuse to jump to block shots and all Fisher and Artest do is reach. Kobe one of the best defenders in the league just floats around like Ed Reed. Acommittment to defense and better x's and o's would help this team out a lot. Phil is at his best when he is motivating and leading men not matching gameplans with other coaches. Doc and Larry Brown outcoached  Phil in the finals and they both managed to get bench players to elevate their performances against the Lakers..Even with Gasol not scoring his rebounds and block shots should have been better. Defense takes effort, consistancy, teamwork and planning. Without those factors you will not succeed. In what playbook does it say the more shot attempts you get the more effort you put out. Odom, Gasol and Bynum should be aggressive on defense and control the paint better.
• The front office much like Phil is to blame for the team getting old overnight. They don't develop young players and they trade away youth for experience. Even while winning you have to keep your eye on the future. Who is the player of the future? DWIGHT HOWARD.
• AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU WIN AND LOSE ON THE COURT, BUT IF YOU HAVE NO COUNTER PLAN OR FAIL TO MAKE THE PROPER ADJUSTMENTS YOU ALWYS STAND A CHANCE OF LOSING. HARDWORK, DETERMINATION, AND EFFORT DON'T GUARANTEE YOU ANYTHING BUT WITHOUT IT YOU DON'T STAND A CHANCE.

Ranking The Top 10 Players In The NBA Of My Era

• Ranking the TOP 10 players of my era came about after I read THE SLAM 500 GREATEST PLAYERS OF ALL TIME issue. I'm not even  going to go into the fact that they listed Shaq over Kareem and Kobe that is buffoonery at its highest apex, but they really got me thinking about how players should be judged and ranked by categories. I devised a formula in which I ranked these 10 players based on a variety of skills on a scale of 1-10 with the best player receiving the highest ranking. For example 1 means your the best and 10 means your the worst in each category. It is still a work in progress but I wanted to present my findings to you all and one last thing if you didn't win a championship you didn't get any consideration.
• Here is the list of criteria that I used to determine the rankings for each player: LEADERSHIP,TEAM PERFORMANCE IN THE PLAYOFFS,INDIVIDUAL PLAYOFF PERFORMANCE,CRUNCH TIME,SKILL LEVEL,INDIVIDUAL ACCOLADES,TRUE SHOOTING PERFORMANCE,DEFENSIVE PRESENCE,PLAYGROUND ATTRACTION, and STAR POWER
• 10TH. THE ADMIRAL DAVID ROBINSON WITH A SCORE OF 77. A gentleman on and off the court The Admiral was a combination of size ,strength ,and quickness that the NBA had never seen before.
• 9TH. ZEEK ISIAH THOMAS WITH A SCORE OF 69. I have always said that if Isiah was 5 inches taller he would have been top 5 all time with the things he could do with the basketball. Think Allen Iverson with more intelligence, leadership, and respect for the game. You want to know how good ZEEK was check out game 6 of the 89 finals against the Lakers.
